Youth Band

Youth-oriented worship
band, which leads the contemporary worship service periodically
and plays at various district and conference activities. Visit our Music

Confirmation
Class
Confirmation is open to young people in grades 8-12. The class meets every Sunday morning through the traditional school year. It concentrates on the Bible, history of Christianity and
United Methodism, and exploring church membership. Students meet various people on the church staff and have the opportunity to spend time with each of our pastors. In addition, there are field trips to churches of other faiths and denominations.

Trip Fundraisers

- Cook and Serve Easter Breakfast
- Work Parties (pull weeds, paint, or whatever else is needed by members
of
the congregation)
Childcare
Workers
Opportunities
for youth to become CPR- certified and work in the church's child
care program. These are paid hourly positions.
District
Events
St. Mark's is a "connectional
church." The youth meet with other United Methodist
Churches for special events and conventions.
Sierra
Service Project
A youth mission trip to
assist in the repair of homes in urban Los Angeles and on Native American reservations
in the Southwest.
Fall
Retreat
Time away to kick off the
school year.
Winter
Retreat
Three-day trip to the
White Mountains for skiing, snow playing, horseback riding and
fellowship.
Worship
Services
Youth plan and lead the
Easter Sunrise Service and assume responsibilities in weekly
worship services.
Christmas
Eve
Youth plan and staff a live nativity.
They are also in charge
of lighting the church grounds with luminaries throughout the
evening.
Summer
Camping
Opportunities available
at UM camps for Jr. and Sr. High Youth.
Church
Family Camp
Church
Camp is held in the fall. This weekend camp for members
and friends of St. Mark's is a great time to relax and enjoy
the Chiricahua Mountains together. Hikes, crafts, games,
campfires and fellowship make this an event for all ages.
