St. Mark's has formed a partnership with Nash
Elementary School, the southernmost school in the Amphitheater
School District.
COMMUNITY
FOOD BANK

The Community Food Bank is a local organization that receives donated food
or contributions from individuals and businesses, as well as the U.S. government.
The food is then packed into Emergency Food Boxes or distributed
to low-income individuals, as well as sold to agencies who feed the hungry,
such as Primavera. More than 28,000 meals per day are furnished by the Food
Bank.

Borderlinks is a regional mission formulated out of the sanctuary
movement in the 80s. It operates Casa Misericordia in Nogales,
Sonora, which provides a hot meal each school day to 300-400
children. Present plans include expansion of their facility to
include a day care center for 80-100 children.
PRIMAVERA
FOUNDATION, INC
Primavera
Foundation: Tucson
Primavera Foundation was established in 1983 to respond to
the increasing number of homeless people on the streets of Tucson.
St. Marks UMC is actively involved with providing meal
teams on the second and fifth Saturdays of each month.
Volunteers are always needed to purchase, prepare and serve those
less fortunate a much-needed nutritional meal. Please sign up
on the list in the narthex of the Sanctuary or call the church
office (297-2062).
INTERFAITH COMMUNITY SERVICES (formerly Northwest Interfaith
Center)

Interfaith Community Services is financially supported by 36 faith
communities pledges
and donations. Located at Christ The King Episcopal Church at Ina & Shannon,
ICS provides assistance with a food bank, mobile meals, and Good Samaritan
services. Volunteer Interfaith Caregiver Program includes assistance with shopping
and errands, visits and respite assistance. Call 297-6049 for more info.
WESLEY FOUNDATION

Wesley Foundation, an Open Door United Methodist Campus Ministry,
serves both the University of Arizona and Pima Community College young adults.
Activities at the Campus Christian Center include a weekly Wednesday dinner,
followed by Soulfest, a creative worship experience. On Sundays,
a Taize worship service is held. Ongoing outreach programs are performed by
the youth group; including homeless housing projects, meals for underprivileged
and those with AIDS/HIV.
TMM FAMILY
SERVICES

TMM Family Services (formerly Tucson Metropolitan Ministries) was formed by
many local congregations and provides such services as housing for the underprivileged
and needy single parents. TMM also has on its campus at Country Club and Adams,
the Childrens Village which provides a safe, secure home
for 20 children whom are waiting to return home, or for adoption or foster
care. Clothing donations are also accepted to the Community Closet. Volunteers
are always needed! Call 322-9557.
