through work in racial and ethnic-minority communities, a multiracial network
of social justice organizations related to United Methodist Voluntary Services,
and local church First-Time Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program.
One Great Hour
of Sharing
Fourth Sunday in Lent. Assists people who strive to feed and support their
families, to learn new skills, to improve health care, to assist refuges,
disaster victims and others in need.
Native American
Ministries
Third Sunday of Easter. Assists missions with Native Americans to develop
and strengthen, Native American students attending Methodist schools of theology,
and also Native American Urban Ministries.
Peace with Justice
First Sunday after Pentecost. Fosters ministries for people of all ages learning
alternatives to violence, new resources for global justice and to stop
violence and restore peace.
World Communion
Sunday
First Sunday in October. Provides Crusade Scholarships for racial and ethnic-minority
graduate students, Ethnic Scholarships for undergraduates, and scholarships
for racial and ethnic-minority students seeking second careers in church-related
vocations.
United Methodist
Student Day
Last Sunday in November. Assists in providing scholarships for undergraduate
students attending United Methodist-related schools, student loans for undergraduates
and graduates, and $5,000 annual conference merit scholarship awards.
