Throughout much of her career, Jill has served as a university choral conductor and church choral director, experiences that have shaped her belief that music ministry is about worship, community, welcome, and shared joy.
Jill is Director of Choral Activities at the University of Northern Colorado, where she has taught for seventeen years. Previously, she was Associate Director of Choral Activities at Ball State University and spent more than a decade teaching and conducting choirs in K-12 schools. She holds a doctorate and master’s degree in choral conducting from Ball State University and a bachelor’s degree in music education from Heidelberg University. Her career as a conductor, clinician, teacher, and singer has taken her throughout the United States and internationally.
Outside of music, she enjoys hiking, cycling, dog training, and spending time with Chip and their Labradoodle, Bernie. She has three adult children and three grandsons.
