Associate Director of Discipleship

Starr Austin serves as the Associate Director of Discipleship at St. Mark’s, where she champions a holistic, lifelong approach to faith formation. Grounded in the United Methodist tradition of grace, Starr designs and oversees intentional spiritual growth pathways that support individuals and families at every stage of life.

With a passion for connecting personal devotion to active community care, Starr specializes in building cohesive discipleship systems. They ensure that every age group receives age-appropriate spiritual nourishment and Christian education, while simultaneously weaving the entire congregation together through shared intergenerational experiences. She is passionate about creating an inclusive environment of open hearts, open minds, and open doors where every person—regardless of age—feels known, valued, and equipped to serve.

Starr holds an interdisciplinary degree in Family Ministry focusing on human development, religious, and cultural studies. She has served in other faith traditions, studied many religions, and endeavors to honor her Grandmother, who first taught her that God is love and Jesus is her bestfriend.
